Attention Pasadena Rental Housing Providers: Registration Deadline Approaching!
All covered residential rental units in Pasadena must be registered by December 22, 2024, along with payment of the annual Rental Housing Fee. For the 2024-2025 fiscal year, the fee is $214.71 per unit, which includes the 2023-2024 fee. Going forward, annual registration and payment of the Rental Housing Fee will be required for all rental units.
How to Register Your Units
Online Registration
- Use the Rental Registry Portal to complete registration and payment online.
Paper Registration
- Request forms by emailing rentalregistry@cityofpasadena.net or calling (626) 744-7999.
- Submit completed forms to the Rent Stabilization Department.
For Property Owners with 10+ Units
- Simplify registration by downloading and using the Rental Registry Bulk Submission Form for the online portal.
Non-Compliance Penalties
Failure to register by the deadline may result in significant consequences, including:
- Tenants may withhold rent until the unit is properly registered.
- For rent-controlled units, owners may be prohibited from increasing rent.
- Property owners may lose the ability to evict tenants.
