DCBA is excited to introduce a new initiative aimed at aiding eligible landlords facing economic challenges brought on by COVID-19. The Los Angeles County Rent Relief Program is set to allocate over $46 million in direct financial assistance to qualified landlords, alleviating the economic strains caused by the pandemic, particularly for tenants struggling with rent payments.
Under this program, eligible landlords can access grants of up to $30,000 per unit to cover expenses incurred from April 1, 2022, to the present. With a specific emphasis on supporting small-scale landlords, particularly those with up to four rental units, the program aims to curb tenant evictions resulting from rental arrears, sustain the viability of smaller rental businesses, and maintain the availability of affordable housing throughout LA County.
Beginning mid-December, landlords can apply for the LA County Rent Relief Program. The application process is designed to be user-friendly, and applicants will benefit from complimentary multilingual technical support provided by community partners, guiding them through the process and aiding in collecting necessary documentation.
Stay informed about program developments and receive notifications for the online application launch by registering today at lacountyrentrelief.com. We are committed to supporting our community during these challenging times and look forward to assisting landlords in need.
What applicants should know: More than $68 million is available through the program, but L.A. County’s Department of Consumer and Business Affairs says funding will be prioritized for applicants who have experienced the most financial stress.
