Californians for Homeownership, a nonprofit sponsored by C.A.R. (California Association of Realtors®), has won a significant claim in its lawsuit against La Cañada Flintridge, California. The court ruled that La Cañada Flintridge failed to rezone sites for housing needs timely, and compliance with housing laws is mandatory. The decision allows affordable housing projects to proceed and orders the city to complete rezoning within 60 days. Californians for Homeownership has filed over 20 housing element lawsuits, settling 10 to ensure compliance. The case is Californians for Homeownership v.
