In response to a motion passed by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on April 15, 2025, the Department of Public Health has launched a new Soil Lead Testing Program to support residents living within and downwind of the Eaton Fire burn area.
Through this initiative, up to $3 million from the Lead Paint Hazard Mitigation Program has been allocated to provide free soil lead testing to eligible households.
This effort aims to address community concerns about potential lead contamination in the soil following the fire.
