Grievance Committee:

The Grievance Committee reviews and investigates complaints by members and the public to determine whether a complaint warrants a formal hearing. Investigates charges of unethical conduct and present findings to the Professional Standards Committee for adjudication and possible disciplinary action. Reviews arbitration requests to determine qualifications for hearings. Requires special training and one year PFAR membership.

Professional Standards Committee:

The Professional Standards Committee strives to promote knowledge of and compliance with the N.A.R. Code of Ethics in order to elevate the industry to its highest professional, ethical ideal. It also provides services for REALTOR® members or members of the public in financial or commission disputes.

The 12-member committee consists of both sales agents and brokers. They are available to serve either on an Ethics Hearing panel or on an Arbitration panel which will hear the arguments, examine the evidence of all parties and render a decision. If the panel feels it is warranted, it may recommend discipline for the respondent in an Ethics Hearing or award money in an Arbitration Hearing. The members are trained in the Code of Ethics and due process to ensure a fair hearing for all parties. The Professional Standards Committee reports to the Executive Committee and to the Board of Directors.
